How to Stay Happy?

Being a regular user of Quora  and answering questions from people who follow "Psychology", one of the most common questions I get is "How to stay happy?". Well, dumb-ass, do what you love!- is one answer I gave😛. But on thinking deeper, there are a lot of things you can do to stay happy. Let me jot down a few of them: 1. Smile. (Kinda simple right?) 2. Eat. (Best word ever!) 3. Run out and fall into the grass. 4. Help an old man. (Or woman, lot of feminists here!) 5. Let someone open up to you.  6. Fall in love. 7. Break up. 8. DO WHAT YOU LOVE, DUMB- ASS! 9. Adopt a puppy. (I repeat, adopt a HOMELESS puppy!) 10. Avoid drama. 11. Watch a lot of Netflix. (Yeah!) 12. Get some sleep. 13. Live for today, not tomorrow. 14. Don't ask "What's up?" (It's freakin' 2017 dude! Still want to go with that?) 15. Celebrate. 16. Run into the woods once in a while. (Don't go into The Dark Forest though!) 17. Stay foolish, don't ...

The Red Rose

The meadows uptown borne a single plant That longed to grow a flower. When to all others, God did grant, That single plant never flowered. He looked at the others and said to himself "Maybe I was supposed to end up this way". And withered turned his heart with him The once green leaves turned to look like hay. But one morning, the plant woke up to see A bud in his hand, his leaves all green. He knew not what it'd turn out to be Nor did he know his joy would cease. The bright red, the beauty best Woke the plant the next day. For the bud in his hand turned the rest To a shame, a red rose she'd turned A red, oh so red, lovely rose. The truth of life nor the pain of dead He knew not of anyone of these devils. He said "I have her in my hand And forever I will keep her in my fable." Days went by and months rolled along The lovely pair seemed not to worry about the time go by. The rumbling of death not away long Was nothing to be be afraid o...

Was This Forever?

"Do you know? Have you seen? I'm incomplete. Where have you been? What role do I have? I may not last a scene, In this romance or tragedy, it may be. How much time does a man Take to forget another? Maybe weeks, maybe months, maybe neither, till forever. have you seen? Or even looked? At my heart aching so for you?" Said the seventeen-year-old, To his one true love. The girl stood there, shy. With red cheeks and dimples. She put out her hand and whispered "Take it and let go never." The boy kissed her And smiled before saying "I'll be at your side and bed, Holding you till forever." The seventy-year-old lady Was startled from her daydream By the sounds of prayer and weeping And people mourning someone's death. She sat there, in a quiet corner A tear rolled down her red cheek And dimple as it fell. She turned to her dead man, "Was this forever?" She whispered.

The One

The rain's clear drops Sped to embrace the Earth. I was there, school bus, back seat Looking far out into vanity. I glance to the front None who really matter. My eyes scramble till They are caught in a trap. There she was Not knowing of me. I sat staring, at those Beautifully lined eyes. There, by my reach Her braided hair. She looked out the window Though watching something else. My heart screaming "Talk to her." My mind saying, "No chance, who'd want you?" I feel trapped in a labyrinth. My body told me "You're not good enough." And then my heart whispered, "She's the one!"
